Item Quality of life and happiness(UMT Lahore, 2021-03-05) Bazila TariqThe world today is plagued by numerous global challenges like economic instability, discriminations, social injustice and unparalleled technological advancements; therefore, the main objective of any society is to uplift the life quality of its individuals and create happy, high functioning adults. One of the principal purposes of higher education institutions is also transformation of its students into individuals who can positively contribute to the society. This study aims to identify the perceptions of higher education students about quality of life and happiness in private institutes in Lahore. This study used quantitative research method and data were gathered from 240 respondents using convenience sampling. A questionnaire adapted from WHOQOL-BREF and Oxford Happiness Questionnaire was used, based on five-point Likert scale. Using SPSS, data was manipulated to reveal results through descriptive statistics, inferential statistics and correlation analysis. The results of this study revealed that students of higher education have an overall good perception about their quality of life. The results further indicate that a majority of students perceive themselves as being happy individuals. The study identified a strong correlation between quality of life and happiness.
