Item Integration of ICT in teaching and learning of science subjects in private elementary schools of Lahore.(UMT Lahore, 2021) Amna KhanThe basic purpose of this research study is to identify the integration of ICT in teaching and learning of science subjects in private elementary schools of Lahore. The objectives of the study include examining the availability of ICT tools used to enhance teaching and learning, exploring the effectiveness of ICT in improving the teaching and learning process, investigating the familiarity of private elementary school teachers with ICT for instructional purposes, determining the use of ICT in these schools, studying the facilities provided by private schools for ICT use, assessing the effectiveness of ICT from the students’ perspective, and identifying the hurdles faced by students in using ICT for learning. The methodology adopted for this study was a survey design, utilizing a quantitative approach to obtain broad views from participants. The population of the study included all private elementary school teachers and students in the district of Lahore. The sample was drawn from targeted schools where ICT was used for instruction. After identifying these schools, a simple random sampling technique was employed to select students and teachers. The final sample included 200 elementary school teachers and 200 students from different selected schools. A 5-point Likert scale questionnaire was used for both teachers and students, ranging from Strongly Agree to Disagree. The teachers’ questionnaire focused on attitudes, challenges, expertise, general use of ICT, and application of ICT, while the students’ questionnaire covered the usefulness of ICT, familiarity with ICT, and the educational usefulness of ICT. The questionnaire consisted of two sections: demographics and factors. Validity and reliability were ensured through expert opinion and Cronbach’s alpha values. Data were analyzed using SPSS, with means computed for all factors and t-tests applied for statistical evaluation. The study strongly recommends that every student should have access to computer labs and ICT-related equipment to facilitate proper learning through interactive and visual methods. The absence of an ICT policy at the school level is a significant gap, and it is recommended that each school implement its own ICT policy to ensure effective use of ICT by all teachers.
