Racism (body shaming) can be described as acts of discrimination, prejudice, or antagonism
directed towards any person or group due to their race or ethnic origin. It is usually based on
the assumption that one race is superior and others are inferior. This affects treatment,
opportunities, and social standing. Body shaming comes in different forms. Sometimes it is
open acts of hate speech or violence; at other times it may seem hidden in systemic and subtle
discrimination within the structures and policies of society, its institutions, and the routine
relations among people.
