Item Smart Vision: AI-Powered Advertisements with Gender Detection(UMT, Lahore, 2024) Abdul Mueez, Abdullah Jamil, Muhammad Shehroz and Shah M. Asim SaeedThis project proposes the development of a novel advertising system that leverages Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) techniques to deliver personalized advertisements based on real-time age and gender detection of individuals within a designated area. Traditional advertising methods often rely on broad demographics or static placements, resulting in inefficient targeting and potentially irrelevant messaging. Our proposed system aims to overcome these limitations by employing computer vision algorithms to detect and analyze faces within a live video stream, utilizing a trained AI/ML model to accurately predict the age and gender of each individual within the detected faces, analyzing aggregated demographic data to identify the dominant age groups and genders present in the target area and selecting and displaying targeted advertisements on designated screens based on the prevalent demographics, ensuring greater relevance and potential effectiveness. The expected benefits of this system include enhanced advertising efficiency (increased engagement and conversion rates due to personalized ad targeting), dynamic and adaptive campaigns (real-time adjustments to advertisements based on changing demographics within the target area), and valuable data insights (demographic analysis provides valuable information for market research and campaign optimization). This project addresses the challenges of privacy concerns (implementing robust data anonymization and security measures to ensure user privacy), potential bias (mitigating bias in the AI/ML model through diverse training data and careful algorithm selection), and ethical considerations (balancing personalization with potential discrimination and respecting individual privacy). By successfully implementing this AI-powered system, we aim to revolutionize the advertising landscape by delivering a more effective, dynamic, and ethical approach to target advertising.
