Item Emotional intelligence, self-ostracism and self esteem among university students(UMT.Lahore, 2024) HIRA ASKARIThe current study set out to examine how self-ostracism, emotional intelligence, and self esteem are related among college students. A correlational cross-sectional study design was utilized for this investigation. A total of ninety people, including men and women aged eighteen to thirty, took part in the study. Among the self-reported assessment tools used to collect data from the participants were the Ostracism Short Scale (Rudert, 2020), the Wong and Law Emotional Intelligence Scale (Wong & Law, 2002), and the Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale (Rosenberg, 1965). According to the study's findings, college students' self-esteem and emotional intelligence were negatively connected with self-ostracism, whereas both were positively correlated with emotional intelligence. In addition, the results of the regression analysis showed that college students' self-esteem was favorably correlated with emotional intelligence and negatively correlated with self-ostracism. Additionally, men scored higher on measures of emotional intelligence and self-esteem, while women scored higher on measures of self-ostracism, according to an independent sample t test.
