Item Impact of Strategic Orientation on Organizational Effectiveness(UMT, Lahore, 2024-11-06) Amna SalmanIn today’s dynamic business environment, organizations face ongoing challenges that require strategic foresight to enhance organizational effectiveness. Strategic orientation, a critical organizational attribute encompassing the guiding principles that influence decision-making and long-term planning, plays a pivotal role in an organization’s ability to adapt, innovate, and achieve sustainable success, Lumpkin & Dess, 2021. This paper examines how impacts Oorganizational effectiveness and investigates employee resilience as a mediating variable, alongside psychological empowerment as a moderating variable. Employee resilience is defined as the capacity to adapt and bounce back from challenges is increasingly recognized as an essential factor in navigating organizational change and ambiguity, Shin et al., 2021. Resilient employees are better equipped to handle the demands of a strategically oriented organization, thereby improving overall effectiveness, King et al., 2020. By positioning Employee resilience as a mediator, this study highlights the pathway through which Sstrategic Orientation influences Oorganizational Eeffectiveness, suggesting that a strategic orientation fosters resilience by encouraging adaptability, which in turn enhances organizational effectiveness Lengnick et al., 2021. Furthermore, psychological empowerment—characterized by employees’ perception of autonomy, meaning, competence, and impact—moderates the relationship between strategic orientation and employee resilience, Thomas & Velthouse, 2020. Empowered employees are likely to experience higher resilience, as empowerment bolsters self-efficacy and commitment to organizational goals Seibert et al., 2011. Thus, when organizations strategically orient themselves, empowered employees demonstrate greater resilience, amplifying the positive effects on organizational effectiveness, Maynard et al., 2021.
