Item Impact of Authentic Leadership on Employee Job Performance and Employee Turnover Intentions(UMT.Lahore, 2022-06-24) Adnan AmanatThe present study aims to investigate the impact of authentic leadership on employee job performance and turnover intention with the mediating effect of work engagement and moderating effect of core self-evaluation (CSE) to identify how these variables effect employees in IT sector of Pakistan. Data was collected from 350 participants belonging to different IT companies of Lahore through questionnaire. The results suggested that authentic leadership has positive impact on job performance while negatively impact the turnover intention of employees. Moreover, work engagement mediates the relationship between authentic leadership and job performance as well as employee’s turnover intention. Additionally, the empirical results revealed that CSE inversely moderates the relationship between authentic leadership and work engagement. Using JD-R model with an exclusive moderated mediation compact framework, this research opens new opportunities for theoretical advancement and expand pragmatically vital concept in the field of management and organizational behavior. Furthermore, this research envisions management practitioners to impart the authentic behavior in organizational leadership to retain their employees and get optimal level of performance. This study has cross sectional design that may compel inferring conclusions relating to causality. Future research can replicate this framework in different sectors, cultures and countries for the generalizability of the results.
