Abstract
The purpose of this study was to investigate the parent's beliefs about disability and the role of this already existing belief on the intervention of children with disability. Four categories Hearing Impairment, Visual Impairment, Mental retardation and physical impairment were targeted. It was a qualitative study focused on obtaining in-depth and rich information of beliefs. Sample was the parents of the children with disability who were purposively selected and Semi-structured interviews were employed for collecting in depth data of the phenomenon. The finding provides in-depth details of parents' view of their child's disability, societal experiences of their child's disability, adopted specific strategies of intervention and parents satisfaction about the selected intervention. Fears related to the future of girls and boys were also varying. Parents shared different opinions of disability some perceiving it as Reward while others as punishment ultimately leaving effect on selection of intervention.
