    Synchiropus splendidus
(University of Management & Technology, 2018) Sohail, Anum
Mandarin is a small attractive and colorful fish, which has a beautiful texture of orange wavy lines with bright blue background. Although it has yellow, purple and green color but blue and orange is the extent color of fish, which make her more attractive. It has highly reclusive nature but sometimes seen perched. They swim very fast with their fins. It has unusual shape with a broad head but it is very small about six to seven cm. A concept behind this project is to depict the essence of the sea creature. It has very bright and vibrant colors, which made her more, and more attractive. It has very beautiful textures with orange wavy lines, which make her different from other fishes. The pattern is extremely different it seems like someone draw very beautiful random wavy lines on her body, which attracts the human eyes. It is the only fish, which has no scale on her body it, has its own colorful textures. The blue hued color in her body tends to elaborate optical illusion to brighten the body. It has many layers of colorless crystals in her skin, which reflect blue color back at the looker, which make her more attractive because of his blue reflection. Mandarin is not relay on optical illusion. In fact, there are only two species in the world that produces its own coloring called cyanophores. Mandarin fish had a very beautiful contrast of the blue and orange applique. My focus on see-through fabrics and on embellishments because I made couture dresses so the key silhouettes reference are haute couture 2018 and experimental cut lines with the layers of pure fabrics attached showing the colorful relation with pattern and design on its body. I try to make layers of different fabric to show the reflection of colors, which make my dresses more attractive. .Texture and colors of the fish is huge source of inspiration. Therefore, the focus is¬ on blue and orange. Blue is the base color of my dresses and I used darker tone of blue, orange and yellow embroidery on it to make it brighter and beautiful like mandarin. The textile surfaces are a mixture of colors and design, design is taken out from the fish textures, used different techniques of printing, and made different colorful digital prints. Digitally printed and embroidered fabric surfaces not only enhance the subject matter but also give the garment a new dimension of style.

    Shades of Matisse
(University of Management & Technology, 2018) Aima Hafeez
HENRI MATISSE was a famous French painter and an emerging leader of the first twentieth-century movement in modern art, called Fauvism. The French word Fauve means (wild beast), the wild beasts were a group of painters with similar interests and Henri Matisse lead this allied group. He was famous for his painting, print making, sculpture, drawing and collage work. The inspiration of my thesis is the paintings and the cut outs of Matisse, as his work represents boldness, expression of colour and typical Fauvism style. The objective of my thesis is the representation of Matisse's work of art; his paintings and cut outs that have the most influential impact on my thought development of Fauvism. The work of the Artist produces extremely eye-catching sensation. The thesis will involve, • Number one, extraction of designs, prints or cloth patterns from paintings and cut outs of Henry Matisse's work, hence turning abstract paintings for design prints. • Secondly, the most important colour that will be used for printing designs will be white; all design prints will be done on white base colour. • Third, the work of Henry Matisse will be converted to 3-dimensional form such that the already intense colours will stand out more prominently. • And fourthly, new cut lines will be created from object of the paintings that will give a new appearance to these painting designs. The above mentioned plan of work will be done keeping in view all the factors of presenting a thesis, inspiration gathered from research on Fauvism of the particular artist will be used to bring out something new and also keeping in view the originality of the work such that something similar but unique will be created for the thesis. The final outcome or the product line created will identify clearly the inspired work and all the patterns created will reflect upon the Fauvism movement, representing the balance of composition and individual expression. The scope of my inspiration will help develop the fauvism style to a new style design form that will compliment the Fauvism bold art form and at the same time emerge as a modern fashion style.

Besides exploring other possible options for the application of thermochromic textiles other the one most commonly used. Incorporating thermochromic inks / finishes in dyeing cotton fabric and yarn for weaving and knitting. Blending techniques for new outcome of designs like dyed cotton yarn and knitted fabric, etc were the bullet points. The idea behind conducting research in this section was to utilize thermochromic ink / finish in dyeing that has not been explored before. Using thermochromic inks / finishes for dying cotton fabric and cotton yarn and constructing knitted and woven structures with that dyed yarn by giving the fabrics water resistant surface and constructing a product by using that fabric is objective for this research.

    The Silicon Circuits
(University of Management and Technology, 2018) Rafey Afzal
The Silicon circuits are the flat boards made-up of semiconductor material silicon and Germanium, used in electronics to conduct electronic signals. The tiny transistors and diodes are attached on it with engraved line pattern for electricity. As the word is dominated by electronic technology so silicon circuits are found in every gadget which comprise electronics such as cell phones, smart watch, computers and remote controls. The pattern on silicon circuits is unique and has an amazing green texture, some blue and purple circuits are also available. This texture can be used in textile art as there is no limit in creativity. Alexander McQueen, a well-known British textile designer has once used these patterns in fashion surface design in 1998; He has used the lines on circuit boards in his apparel collection and made some unique dresses out of it, although his work was limited to only single technique which was screen printing, he simply extracted the lines pattern out of silicon boards and have set repeats of it on fabric, more techniques were not experimented at that moment. A wide range of unique motifs could be extracted which can be merged with one another to form an interesting pattern which could be printed on fabric using some experimental techniques such as foil printing, glow printing, flock printing, and some digital prints can also be made. Furthermore 3D work would be added to enhance the true essence of modern day technology with LED lights, in additional more embroidery, fabric manipulation and fabric cut work would also be used on the final products. The final end product will be some westernize 3D dresses, which would be adding the high end techno look to the final collection, which will be the future of fashion creativity, as well as will symbolize the futurism, the dresses will be made for party wear having some elegant cuts and styles which will be wear in special occasions, along with dresses some innovative accessories will also be made to carry with dresses.

Study of Different Washing Techniques on 100% Cotton Based Denim Fabric and Dyed Twill Weave Cotton Fabric
(University of Management and Technolog, 2018) Abdullah, Ahmad
Denim washing is not such an old thing that is not known to us. It is done to get proper aesthetic look of the fabric. This research consists of two parts: the first one is the washing of denim fabric with enzyme, bio-polish, enzyme and stone, resin dip and resin spray. For this purpose, the leg tubes of different sizes of denim and twill fabric are made. The different tests are performed on the test specimens like dimensional change after washing, pilling resistance test by ASTM-D 4970, tensile Strength of the fabric by ISO-13934-2:2000, tear Strength of fabrics by ISO-13937-2:2000, shade variation after different washing methods, scanning electron microscope for washed fabric (SEM images) and absorbency of textiles by AATCC test method 79 (2010) and the results are compared with respect to their different techniques.
