Chrysanthemums are also known as mums or chrysanths they are the natives of Asia and northeastern Europe. Chrysanthemums are daisy-like flowers with a typically yellow center and a decorative pompon. Chrysanthemums often symbolize optimism and joy. Prior researches proved that Chrysanthemums can be used in various medicines to treat chest pain, high blood pressure, diabetes, and even cancer. Breast cancer is cancer that forms in the cells of the breasts and its victims are mainly women. Breast cancer has five stages starting from stage 0 to stage 5. According to the American Cancer Society (ACS), The chance of any woman dying from breast cancer is around 1 in 38 (2.6%). It is considered as the 2nd leading cause of death among women all around the world. In Pakistan, the reason of death through this disease is the lack of awareness and essential measures. In my opinion, the reasons why females in Pakistan die and continue to suffer Breast Cancer are Awareness and Inappropriate/Inadequate measures. This project aims to create garments for the sufferers of breast cancer as an effort to raise awareness and recognition for women, to reduce the stigma of breast cancer through education of fashion technology, and to take all potential precautionary measures to prevent the victims from more harm’s way. The fashion industry’s renowned names such as Ralph Lauren, Estée Lauder, and Beauty blender, are putting a spotlight on this issue. The brands are launching products and pop-up shops to donate funds to organizations like the Breast Cancer Research Foundation. Therefore my goal is to thrive to raise awareness for all the sufferers in Pakistan, that there is still hope for them. I desire to invoke the “Will to live” in victims through the garment(s) designed with my idea being proposed. The designing of at most two garments which are based on the desire to invoke, “Will to live” will be the core deliverable provided by the end of the research. The designing process will be discussed in detail the research boards, color palettes, mood boards, prints and the designs will also be included in this research.
