This study intends to look at the association between mental toughness and mental health problems in university students of Pakistan. The objective was to explore the manifestation of mental toughness and to developed an indigenous scale for mental toughness based on three phases i.e. exploring the phenomenology, expert validation, pilot study, and main study. The participants were given Mental Toughness Scale, Student Problem Checklist Scale, Resilience Scale and a demographic Performa. The results revealed that mental toughness has a significant negative relationship with mental health problems.
