This research was mainly focused on how symbolic violence causes hindrance in the social adjustment of divorced Pakistani women. The theoretical concept of (Bourdieu’s theory of symbolic violence) was applied for the identification of symbolic violence. A total of 5 divorced Pakistani women were selected using purposive sampling. Semi-structured in-depth interviews following IPA (Interpretive Phenomenological Approach) were used for analysis purposes to understand participants lived experiences. The results indicated how women’s later adjustments were controlled by symbolic violence.
