Tehreem Fatima2025-12-012025-12-012023-09-12https://escholar.umt.edu.pk/handle/123456789/14460The title "threads of imagination" is inspired by the movie alice in the wonderland which is inspired by lewis carrol's novel, "alice's adventures in wonder" for children of that era in 1865. the story of movie follows alice as she falls down and enters a rabbit hole opens into a wonderland. this film was released in 1951 produced by walt disney and known for its imaginative and quirky visuals. alice in wonderland is a timeless tale that has captured the imaginations of generations of children. with its fantastical world filled with strange and unusual characters, as a student of textile design, i am inspired by the fantastical world created in this story and decided to bring it to life through my work. it was a place where anything was possible and the impossible was just a part of everyday life. as a parent, teacher or caregiver we should know the importance of providing children with the tools they need to grow and develop in to successful adults. as a designer, i believe in creating products that not only look good but serve a purpose. that's why i've decided to design a fabric for a play area for kids ages 2 to 5, with the goal of helping them develop their motor skills through fun and educational activities. my goal is to create games that are designed as soft sculptures, and give kids a safe place/environment where they can bring out their imagination, which will not be visually appealing but functional. kids play area will encourage kids to play and move their bodies, helping them to develop their fine and gross motor skills. by making these activities fun, children will be more likely to engage with them, leading to better results. it will also help children to develop their imaginative and creative skills. this project is more than just a design; it's about creating a better future for our children. by fostering their motor skills at a young age, we can lead our kids to success in the future. whether they are learning how to write, play sports, or just have fun, these skills will be essential for their growth and developmentenThesis
