Just like a sighted person, the blind also need to travel around inside closed premises such as houses, factories, offices, schools, etc. They may also like to go shopping, visit friends, and other places of their interest. Presently available electronic travelling aids like sonic path finders, sonic torches, etc. are not suitable for use inside closed premises such as schools, factories, and offices. In this project, an electronically detected stick that can be used conveniently inside closed premises has been discussed. This electronic stick is able to detect almost all obstacles such as furniture and metallic objects, thereby preventing users from colliding with such objects. The purpose of this project is to make life easier for blind people. Here, an electronic safety guard system is used that alerts them to any obstacle or object in their path. The system comprises a transmitter section and a receiver section. The receiver section uses an embedded system.enElectronic detection stick for blindsThesis
