That causes the maintenance activities to be delayed for days and week of personnel search until the misplaced tool can be found. Because a lost object of any kind in or around the aircraft can cause unrecoverable damage due to Foreign Object Damage (FOD). In this study, we propose tracking system, which can track misplaced tool with low cost and minimum energy consumption, within specified range and reduce hectic of the manual search and can increase airline safety and productivity. Our novelty lies in designing the Bluetooth based tracking system. This paper focuses on the introduction of tracking system that uses Bluetooth low-energy (BLE) beacons and data transfer by using embedded system approach. Tracking system provides two features, monitoring and tracking. The system essentially based on two components Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) and Micro-controller. Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) send a signal which received by the micro-controller. Micro-controller is programmed and calculate the distance from the received signal by Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE). The obtained results are transferred to the data base by micro-controller via internet source. This system provides incessant monitoring and tracking for tools in aircraft maintenance.enDESIGN AND DEVELOPMENT OF TOOL TRACKING SYSTEM FOR AIRCRAFT MAINTENANCEThesis
