Moreover, the usage of social media by hearing-impaired students was also explored, as was the moderating role of social media usage between emotional intelligence and the academic performance of hearing-impaired students in segregated and inclusive education settings. In the current study, emotional intelligences‟ sub-scales of, such as self-regard, empathy, emotional self-awareness, flexibility, interpersonal skills, impulse control, optimism, problem-solving, assertiveness and stress tolerance, were measured in both education systems and their relationship with the academic performance of hearing-impaired students.enThesis
