The purpose of the present study was to explore Pakistanis fathers' perceptions about parental roles in the family, and how they define the new role of father. Fathers were interviewed about their beliefs regarding fatherhood, the roles of fathers and in the family, and fathers' involvement in their children's lives. 15 fathers interviewed who had been married for two years, 7 of these father's wives were employed, and 8 of these father's wives were housewives.
