Starting from Orient Airline to this stage it took lot of efforts, the government was and is still working to improve it. Even though we faced lot of hurdles, in the form of recession, terrorist attacks and UN sanction. Seven year ago National Aviation Policy came into existence to improve overcome the challenges and to make aviation industry of Pakistanmore efficient. In 2015, National Aviation Policy was introduced with much more improvements, giving more privileges and incentive to work with Public-Private Partnership, to increase more revenue and growth of airports. Growing small airports, like airports of Northern Areas, to overcome the loss and use their potentials to improve these airports was also one the major point of the policy. As Northern Areas is known for its beauty and wonders, it can be used for tourism purposes. There are two airports in Gilgit Baltistan, one in Gilgit and one in Skardu. There are lot of tourist spots and business potential which can be used for generating huge amount of revenue, but due to the lack of airport utilization these airports are not even making enough revenue to fulfill their own expenditures. With the increasing number of tourist every years, the airports should also be ungraded accordingly, but to no improvements in air services, the capacity of flights is becoming less and less, causing troubles for a huge number of tourist to visit these places.
