The quantitative data was obtained from a self-developed questionnaire which aimed at establishing the adequacy level of the ESL learners towards TBLT and the perceived benefits of the study. Quantitative data suggests that, TBLT is regarded as a positive strategy and has a beneficial effect including (pronunciation, vocabulary, confidence etc.) on students' spoken English and their fluency levels. But, the variability of outcomes and some issues were identified which includes fear of making mistakes and practice opportunities and this means that further research is needed to reveal the ways of enhancing TBLT for different learners.enInvestigating the efficacy of task based language teaching on the spoken skills of esl learners at university level lahoreThesis
