The sample of this research was comprised of (N=200), based on equal proportion from government and private university students using the cross sectional research design. Measurement tools included an indigenous scale, which was developed in present study to measure Infatuation along withStudent Problem Checklist (SPCL) to assess Mental Health Problems in university population (Saleem & Mehmood, 2011) along with Adult Attachment Questionnaire (AQA) (Hazzan & Shaver, 1987) to assess adult attachment patterns with their parents and My Early Memories of Upbringing (EMBU-A) to assess the memories of child rearing practices (Jacobson, Knorring, Perris & Perris, 1980).The results indicated a significant positive relationship between rejection from fathers and mental health problems and non-significant positive relationship between overprotected mothers and mental health problems in university students. The results also revealed non-significant positive relationship between rejection from parents and infatuation in university students along with strong and significant positive relationship between infatuation and mental health problems. Furthermore, infatuation and mental health problem are strongly and positively related with attachment styles. The results revealed that gender, insecure and ambivalent adult attachment patterns, Father Rejection, Over Protection of Father, Emotional Warmth Mother, Over Protection of Mother are the significant predictors of Mental Health Problems and Infatuation in University students. It was worth noted that adult infatuation was found to be the strongest predictor of mental health problems.
