In the past decade, numerous irregularities like extreme weather spells, floods, glacier lake outbursts, and heat waves have been observed. Global Climate Index has ranked Pakistan as the fifth vulnerable country towards climatic change (Business Recorder, 2021). Rather than referring to as one of the most vulnerable countries to climate change, it would be more accurate to be referred to as least prepared. Sustainable ideas and concepts that have been practiced throughout the 20th century require a new resilient approach towards energy conservation and efficient energy houses for the adaption of ongoing/new environmental changes. Billions of rupees have been spent on building new houses each year. It is a very little known fact that implications of passive house techniques such as insulation may reduce the energy consumption hence reducing the overall running cost. With little understanding, upfront costs associated with energy-efficient building envelops have a huge negative economic impression on residential units and residents may end up having huge operations and maintenance costs for a lifetime by opting for standard brick envelopes.
