Universities are the centers of higher education that greatly influence young impressionable minds. However, individual personalities that are emerging from the universities of Pakistanare in state of cognitive dissonance. They lack balanced, integrated and holistic attitude which Islamic educational process focused at in the past. In this context, functional aspects of four elements of Pakistani universities have been analyzed. These elements include curriculum, teachers, co-curricular activities and environment. Survey and analysis revealed the dominance of western thought and culture in the higher educational institutes as an important debilitating factor in the formation of Islamic personality. To improve this process reformatory measures have been suggested based on the work of eminent Muslim scholars.
