dc.description.abstractThis study is an attempt to explore the relationship between Personality traits, Burnout tendencies and psychosocial problems of female flight attendants. This current study was carried out in four stages in the first stage the phenomenology of the psychosocial problems of female flight attendants was explored through open ended approach from 20 participants. This phase resulted in to 49 items and the final list of 33 items was further validated by 10 experts and piloted on 40 participants. In the final stage a sample of 400 participants (50% married female flight attendants and 50% unmarried female flight attendants) with the age range of (M 30.57, SD 2.67) was selected through purposive sampling technique from different airlines of Pakistanand given Big Five Personality Inventory (BFI), Burnout (BO), Psychosocial Problem Scale of Female Flight Attendants (PPFFA) along with the demographic Performa. The results of factor analysis revealed a two factor solution namely social stressors and psychosomatic stressors of female flight attendants. The Psychosocial problems scale of female flight attendants was found to have high internal consistency, concurrent and discriminant validity. The results of Hierarchal Regression Analysis revealed that psychosocial problems and “Openness” personality traits was found to be significant predictor of burnout in female flight attendants. The results are discussed in terms of psychological stressors management and counseling for the female flight attendants of different airlines in Pakistanen_US
